Q2. Where is Roots Spice located?

We are located in the Sun Shine State of Florida in Orlando City, do let us know if anytime you are visiting will gladly swing by for a cup of coffee, and listen to your stories with our spices. Yes it's true it's always sunny out here.

Q3. What are Single Origin and Fresh Harvest Spices?

Single Origin spices are spices that we can trace back to the original farmers who have grown them painstakingly and all the spices in a single batch will be identical and offer the same fresh taste and aroma profile.

Q4. Are our Spices Organic?

All our spices are free from any pesticides and chemical residues. However, as we work with small farmers, it is often very expensive for them to get certified and approved by international agencies that conform to US FDA regulations for 'organic' labelling. We are actively working with our farmers to get their products organic-certified, and you will be getting regular updates about the availability of organic products through our newsletters.

Q5. Are our spices genetically modified (GMO)?

None of our spices are genetically modified, all our spices are grown using traditional methods with heirloom seeds, in order to make sure you get the most delicious natural spices.

Q6. Are our spices gluten-free?

In general all our spices are gluten-free, as we take utmost care in handling of our spices and we have strict quality controls in place to ensure that there is no contamination with gluten. Having said that as we are not certified by an independent third party organization as certified gluten-free, caution must be exercised if you are highly gluten intolerant.

 Q7. What are the shipping costs?

We currently offer Complimentary Two-Day FedEx Express Shipping to all USA including Alaska & Hawaii for orders above $30. For any order less than $30 shipping will be calculated at the time of checkout.

 Q8. Is our packaging environmentally friendly and sustainable?

Most our spices come in our signature brass containers which not only look classic but are environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. Once the containers are empty they can be reused for keeping jewelry or other accessories next to your bedside table.

Q9. What are the Shipping times for Brass Spice Box, Mortar & Pestle?

As both brass spice box and mortar & pestle are custom made with personalization. We kindly request to allow 15 working days for these articles to be shipped.

 Q10. How to Clean your Brass Spice Containers, Masala Box and Mortar & Pestle?

Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc, it is common for brass objects to form a patina over time just like copper. The patina can be easily cleaned by using common household items.

Instruction for cleaning the patina from brass:

Mix 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup vinegar and enough all-purpose flour to make a paste. Gently rub onto the object, rinse and dry. Once dry using a cloth you can rub a little bit of olive oil/cooking oil to seal and maintain the same shine and luster as before.

 Q11. How can I change the Shipping Address for my order?

If your order has not been shipped yet, we can change it. Please send us a message here with your new shipping address.

 Q12. What is a Pre-order?

Pre-order allow our customers to place an advance order as our shipment is still in transit. Due to the pandemic shipping lines have been extremely stretched and therefore pre-orders allow us to ship the products the moment we have them in our warehouse. Once you have placed a pre-order you will be getting an update with the shipping confirmation, when we start shipping them. It also allows us to better manage our stock and helps us paying our farmers in advance, so that we can bring you the finest spices as soon as possible.

 Q13. How to Cancel an Order?

In the unlikely event you decide to cancel an order please contact us as soon as possible here We will do our best to cancel your order. However if the order has been shipped or the order contains customized Masala Box or Mortar & Pestle we will not be able to cancel the order.

 Q14. Do we ship International?

We currently ship to India as part of free shipping for orders above $30. We do ship to Canada, UK, European Union, Japan, South Korea, Middle East and Australia, however international orders are often subject to import fees, custom duty/fees, VAT etc. All associated fees for International orders will be borne by the respective customer, as we do not have any control on these fees as they are charged by the local government authorities.
